Saliva Drug Testing

LabSource offers Comprehensive Saliva (Oral Fluids) Drug Testing for commonly abused prescription drugs and illicit drugs utilizing our High Sensitivity Definitive Toxicology Methodology with LC-MS/MS Instrumentation. While clinical toxicology testing using a urine specimen is the preferred method to detect more remote drug use as drug and drug metabolites can be detected over a greater detection window; the use of oral fluids drug testing does have its place in the clinical testing setting. Saliva (Oral Fluids) Drug Testing may be considered if urine specimen adulteration is suspected, urine specimen integrity is in question, if the patient is unable to produce a urine specimen, or if bathrooms are not available for use.

Oral Fluid Drug Testing only detects a drugs presence in the mouth at the time of specimen collection and does not detect drug metabolites; therefore more remote use of drugs cannot be detected.
