Pharmacogenetics Testing

Pharmacogenetics

LabSource’s Pharmacogenetic testing uses non-invasive specimen collection by buccal swabs. Our methodology utilizes multiplexed reactions and mass-spectrometry rather than florescent reporting dyes which can be subject to interference. Pharmacogenetic test results can help guide a physician on which drug therapy will be most effective — and equally important, what drugs or doses that could be potentially harmful, resulting in an adverse reaction that could be life threatening.

Results that Make a Clinical Difference:

  • In depth coverage of all common alleles and many rare alleles for CYP2D6, CYP2C19, and CYP2C9
  • Clinical Consequences and interpretation of results specific to the patient’s medications included in every report
  • Pharmacogenetic Reports are comprehensive yet concise and easy to read
  • Results cover not just drug metabolizing enzymes (DMEs) but also important receptors and other proteins for holistic reporting, not just liver enzyme function

Panels:

Essential Pain Profile: Provides valuable insight to patients’ most critical drug metabolizing enzymes (DMEs) and opioid receptors in simple medical language without weighing down the report with scientific jargon. Panel Focuses on DMEs that metabolize the large majority of Pain Management drugs.

Cytochrome P450 genes (for drug metabolizing enzymes):
  • CYP2D6
  • CYP2C19
  • CYP3A4
  • CYP2C9
  • CYP2B6

Other:
  • COMT
  • OPRM1
